Pro-Tip: When cutting thick 4X beams or ganged plywood, ensure your saw’s base plate is perfectly square to the blade. Because of the D1040W’s large 10-1/4" diameter, even a slight deviation in the bevel angle is magnified over the depth of the cut. For maximum accuracy in structural headers, use a speed square as a fence to guide the saw through the entire pass.
