Known for his elite scoring and rebounding, Abdur-Rahim took the NBA by storm, earning a spot on the All-Rookie First Team and leading the Grizzlies in points and rebounds throughout his tenure with the team.

Selected third overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, Abdur-Rahim made an immediate impact, averaging 18.7 points and 6.9 rebounds as a rookie. His performances continued to improve, with multiple 20+ point per game seasons and a career-high 39-point performance against the Celtics in 1999. Even in a struggling Grizzlies team, he was the franchise’s undisputed star. His skill and leadership would later earn him a spot on the 2001 NBA All-Star Team with the Atlanta Hawks.
