En 2083, l’humanité s’est éteinte depuis plusieurs décennies. Dans ce monde délaissé, les singes se regroupent en tribus et apprivoisent les objets humains. À la tête d’une de ces tribus, vous devez la guider sur la voie de l’intelligence collective.

Pour remporter After Us, vous devez accumuler 80 points de victoire avant vos adversaires. Chaque round, les participants tirent les 4 premières cartes de leur paquet et les assemblent, de gauche à droite, pour former des combos. Ils devront ensuite les résoudre séquentiellement pour gagner des ressources, des points ou activer les pouvoirs de leurs primates. Les joueurs doivent faire preuve de stratégie pour minimiser leurs pertes et maximiser leurs gains. Après cette phase d'activation, ils sont libres de choisir un nouveau singe pour leur tribu. Ce choix dépendra des bonus offerts et des moyens dont ils disposent.
