Glenn Close says: Another Kind of Madness is one of the best books I've read about the cost of stigma and silence in a family touched by mental illness. I was profoundly moved by Stephen Hinshaw's story, written beautifully, from the inside-out. It's a masterpiece.

A deeply personal memoir calling for an end to the dark shaming of mental illness

Families are riddled with untold secrets. But Stephen Hinshaw never imagined that a profound secret was kept under lock and key for 18 years within his family--that his father's mysterious absences, for months at a time, resulted from serious mental illness and involuntary hospitalizations. From the moment his father revealed the truth, during Hinshaw's first spring break from college, he knew his life would change forever.

Hinshaw calls this revelation his "psychological birth." After years of experiencing the ups and downs of his father's illness without knowing it existed, Hinshaw began to piece together the silent, often terrifying history of his father's life--in great contrast to his father's presence and love during periods of wellness. This exploration led to larger discoveries about the family saga, to Hinshaw's correctly diagnosing his father with bipolar disorder, and to his full-fledged career as a clinical and developmental psychologist and professor.

In Another Kind of Madness, Hinshaw explores the burden of living in a family "loaded" with mental illness and debunks the stigma behind it. He explains that in today's society, mental health problems still receive utter castigation--too often resulting in the loss of fundamental rights, including the inability to vote or run for office or automatic relinquishment of child custody. Through a poignant and moving family narrative, interlaced with shocking facts about how America and the world still view mental health conditions well into in the 21st century, Another Kind of Madness is a passionate call to arms regarding the importance of destigmatizing mental illness.

Excellent device, see my use case in the review.
Color: Grey
I got the hub in two days ago. I plugged it in to a uni-directional HDMI cable (I have used these for years from Monoprice.com) from the hub to the TV and the PD port into the charging block. Charging started but the iPad Pro screen was NOT showing on the TV. I switched in a regular HDMI cable from the hub to the TV and it worked. The Monoprice cables have some sort of logic in the cable ends allowing a very thin HDMI cable. I have used these on my TVs at home and when teaching at a senior facility for at least 8 years now. So, something with the unidirectional HDMI cables seems to interfere with this hub but “regular” HDMI cables seem OK. Before buying this hub, I had emailed Anker TS with a question. Anker turned around 3 emails with answers in just over an hour. This is one of the reasons why I have bought quite a lot of Anker products over the years. My use for this is to plug in my iPad Pro to my AVR so that I can stream stuff to my TV while simultaneously charging the iPad at the same time. This works well.

Works great and handles everything.
Color: Black
Works great. I plug in a standalone video camera for meetings, a keyboard & trackball, and monitor with a couple of other slots open, like for a portable CD-ROM/DVD player. One plug into the laptop and everything is connected. Initially, I bought another hub, but that one didn't consistently work. This one does. In a month of heavy use, I've had no issues with it at all.

Helped transfer data from Samsung Galaxy S21 with broken screen.
Color: Black
Helped me transfer data from a Samsung Galaxy S21 with broken screen. Simple put USB C end into phone , grab HDMI cable and plug into hub , then plug HDMI end into a monitor. Then grab a wireless keyboard & mouse and plug dongle into hub. Your phone will output to monitor and you can transfer data via Smart Switch using keyboard & mouse. Will only work if phone is unlocked I found on S21.

Great Slim iPad Case – Secure Fit & Easy to Use
Color: Black, Size: ipad 9th/ 8th/ 7th gen 10.2 inch, Color: Black, Size: ipad 9th/ 8th/ 7th gen 10.2 inch
This is a really nice iPad case and worked perfectly as a replacement for my old one that was falling apart. I have an Apple iPad 9th Generation (10.2 inch), and this case fit perfectly. The cutouts for the camera, volume buttons, power button, and charging port all line up exactly as they should. The iPad snaps into the case easily by gently pressing it into the rounded corners, and once installed it feels very secure with no slipping or falling out. The case is very lightweight also. I also had no issues accessing or using any of the buttons while the case was on. One of my favorite features is the automatic sleep/wake function—closing the cover puts the iPad into sleep mode, which helps save battery life. I chose the black version, and it has a clean, simple look. For the price, I think it’s a great value. Overall, this is a slim, functional, and well-fitting iPad case that I definitely recommend!
