Forty years since Martin Hannett first used synths and electronic sound effects in production work on Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures, this album looks at 21 tracks of electronic and synth music that Hannett had compiled in the the mid 70s to early 80s whilst exchanging tapes by post with electronic music pioneer Delia Derbyshire. The compiled work from the two electronic music geniuses was to have been released by Hannett but was shelved in the early 80s. Here it is as he put it together for the planned album.Tracks 1-21 untitled.

A freaky adolescent rush of fun and horror

This is a series that wears it's inspirations proudly on it's sleeve (mainly the early aughts toonami block) and isn't afraid to show how much it loves them. The amazing creature visuals are perfect amounts of gorgeous and grotesque, complimented wonderfully by these quiet slice of life scenes that feel intimate and human.

A Experience to Be Read
Format: Paperback
I bought the first issue when the series debuted but couldn't afford to continue. So I'm glad I found this volume 1 trade paperback.
On first read, it has a few inspirations from Japanese manga from panel layouts to manga/anime character tropes. That being the case, it carves its own identity as a romance story between a normal orphan boy and a centuries old vampire and their daily lives in an alternate history USA.
I like mash-up of different cultures from German and Japanese to Spanish and English including the music, the written languages, and other aspects.
Nights has a vibe not everyone will like off bat, but I'll will vouch that anyone should give it a try.

Overwhelming Great!

This was mind blowingly good. Haven’t read anything in a long time where every character’s backstory was so well written and interesting. The story rocks, it’s almost overwhelming. I will be on the hunt for the individual issues because there’s no way I’m waiting for the next trade paperback.

Interesting characters that you are immediately invested in, strange world, super fun and witty writing/dialog. You’ll really enjoy this one. Genre? Mmm alternate past/present Florida with a quirky horror bent? Just read it. You’ll thank me. :D
