Ever since it first arrived on the RC rock crawling scene, the Base Camp has been a favorite of value-conscious newcomers and experienced crawling fans alike. Portal axles give the rig ample ground clearance for easy off-road maneuvering. The LCXU 4-wheel drive transmission lets you switch easily to standard axles if you prefer, and it includes all-metal gears and full ball bearings for impressive durability.
Built on the proven Axial SCX10 III platform, the Base Camp is equally at home climbing rocks and ledges or following a trail back to camp. Its optimized suspension, tunable oil-filled shocks, and tough-as-nails drivetrain all contribute to unstoppable crawling performance. The Base Camp now also features loads of new accessories for improved looks. A snorkel, half cage, functional storage case, rock sliders, side mirrors, and door handles all boost the scale realism for more excitement on the trails.
Despite its affordable price, every component of the Base Camp RTR package is reliable, low-maintenance, and high quality – from the installed Axial Slickrock 35T brushed motor and Spektrum 40A waterproof brushed ESC to the feature-packed Spektrum SLT3 transmitter and 5-channel SR515 DSMR Sport Receiver located in a sealed receiver box.

SCX10 III STEEL C-CHANNEL CHASSIS
Strong and stiff, the SCX10 III steel C-channel chassis reduces frame flexing and increases the precision of suspension movement.
AR45 PORTAL AXLES
Included AR45 portal axles provide extra ground clearance at the differential for easier off-road maneuvering.
LCXU TRANSMISSION
Equipped with a high performance, single-speed LCXU transmission, the SCX10™ III Base Camp 4WD has a low center of gravity for stability over courses and trails. The transmission includes a full set of ball bearings, all-metal internal gears for strength and durability, and can be upgraded for dig functionality. The internal gears can also be switched to allow for our optional standard axles.
STYLISH TRUCK BODY WITH SCALE ACCESSORIES
Factory-decorated and detailed, the polycarbonate truck body adds exciting, contemporary scale looks – highlighted by numerous scale accessories, including snorkel, half cage, functional storage case, rock sliders, side mirrors, and door handles. Officially licensed, high clearance DeMello Off-road bumpers are also included.
ROCK SLIDERS
Durable rock sliders improve both looks and performance as they not only protect the body and chassis but also help the Base Camp glide over obstacles.
OPTIMIZED SUSPENSION GEOMETRY
The front suspension geometry of the Base Camp is optimized to reduce bump steer, while the rear 4-link reduces torque twist.
ALUMINUM ADJUSTABLE COILOVER SHOCKS
The oil-filled shocks have aluminum threaded bodies and a single coilover spring. The shocks are tunable for achieving the best damping rate.
SEALED RECEIVER BOX
Sealed receiver box withstands the elements and protects the Spektrum 5-channel SR515 DSMR receiver.
OFFICIALLY LICENSED WHEELS & TIRES
Tall, officially licensed Falken Wildpeak tires provide good ground clearance and a secure grip on dirt, rocks, and all other off-road surfaces. They're mounted on officially licensed Black Rhino one-piece wheels for added scale looks.
INSTALLED POWER SYSTEM
The included and installed power system features an Axial Slickrock 35T brushed motor and Spektrum 40A waterproof brushed ESC. With this simple and reliable combo, you'll spend more time on the trails and less time performing maintenance.
SPEKTRUM SLT3 RADIO SYSTEM
The included SLT3 3-channel radio provides dependable 2.4GHz control plus user-adjustable features including steering and throttle trims, steering rate, and throttle limits. The 3-channel transmitter makes it easy to upgrade to dig or add a winch. It's paired with a 5-channel SR515 DSMR Sport Receiver that can also be used with higher channel transmitters such as the Spektrum DX6C, DX6 Rugged, DX5 Pro, or iXSR.
